1:48 Display Dioramas

These are the first of my attempts at creating display bases/dioramas for the planes I had built.

I used a whole lot of HO scale railroad ideas for scenery for my starting point. Lots of Woodland Scenics stuff. Crazy use of plywood for bases – these babies weigh a ton… They were a lot of fun to do.

This is a concrete airfield for the American subjects that I had built up to this point. Used a couple different Tamiya 1:48 figure sets for ground crew, aviators, and infantry. Tamiya 1:48 deuce and a half tanker for some scale…

This next one has a lot of different bits and bobs for a some different ideas.

I had a bunch of Woodland Scenics products that I started to layer up… creating clearings, woods, paths… I thought it gave me a lot of different perspectives for displaying and photographing armor models… Lots of Tamiya and ICM figures and an assortment of 1:48 Tamiya vehicles. Tiny stuff!

The airfield is a whole lot of artistic liberty! Bunch of different Google searches and old model box art led to this one… Good project for practicing weathering and different effect products! I thought it was entertaining!
